Barnes Dance (also known as pedestrian scramble) is a crossing that stops all traffic and allows people to cross in every direction (including diagonal) at the same time. Although named after Henry Barnes, the concept was not invented by him; but he was the first to use it on a large scale.
The scramble crossing in Shibuya is called Center Gai and is reportedly the busiest in the world. (Tokyo, 2006)
